Canada Day with CJAM

CJAM is gearing up for Canada Day! Many of our shows will be doing specials to celebrate.

The Trip:  Tune in on Saturday night from 12:30 to 2am for scorching hot primitive rock and cool psychedelia.. from The Great White North! The guys have new and old Canadian tunes that will keep you rockin’ to kick off Canada Day.

Oracle: Monday morning, July 2nd, from 9-10:30am, join Renee for Canadian groovy, psych vibes, best enjoyed with a jelly doughnut, back bacon, and a William Shatner marathon.

The Canadian Jam: After Renee, join Rosina for an all Canadian indie rock extravaganza on the Canadian Jam from 10:30 – noon on July 2nd.

Rest of the News: On July 2nd, at 8:30pm, the Rest of the News will report on a number of issues facing Canadians today including a health care system that a new study says is too doctor orientated and the considerable prevalence of malnutrition in the country. Other stories will look at how Canada’s famed grand hotels are changing to become younger and how Chardonnay is becoming a wine of choice among Canadians. All this and more including late breaking news!

Celebrating Canadian Progressive Rock on The Purple Room this Canada Day
Sunday, July 1 at 10:00 P.M. on CJAM 99.1 FM
It’s time to raid Dad’s closet.  Get out the kimono, the velvet smoking jacket, the ’70s tennis racket.  Put on a Rick Wakeman cape, try on a robe and nail those fuzzy slippers to the floor near a mic stand.  Dine on honey dew and drink the milk of paradise you ask?  You betcha!  It’s The Purple Room’s homage to Canadian Progressive Rock this Canada Day, July 1, 2012.  Starting at 10:00 P.M. this Sunday night – Julian Belanger will play an entire 2 hour set of Canadian Progressive Rock.  You’ll hear from Rush, Symphonic Slam, Nash The Slash, The Box, Men Without Hats, Max Webster, FM, Saga, Voivod and the french scene from the ’70s in the Province of Quebec.  Johnny Rotten was right when he wore the t-shirt “Pink Floyd Sucks” on BBC Television.  Why?  Because on this 2 hour CJAM broadcast…Canada PROG ROCKS!!!
