BEFORE YOU APPLY TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER WITH CJAM
Listen to CJAM at 99.1 FM, stream us live from our website or access our monthly archives on-line. It’s the best way to learn what we’re all about and what our schedule already offers – this way, if you develop an interest in programming you’ll be able to propose something that adds to the diversity of shows in our current lineup.
Become familiar with our station mandate; CJAM is part of a national network of campus and community radio stations whose mission is to provide an alternative to mainstream/commercial interests and the CBC. CJAM is an inclusive space that has been part of the University of Windsor campus for the past 30 years. We thrive on an array of opinions, expertise, and the interests of over 125 active volunteers.
CJAM is redefining radio in Windsor-Detroit – we are not 89X or Channel 95.5 and we’re not looking for the next Howard Stern. What we are looking for are individuals who are open-minded, have a willingness to try things and meet new people, possess a passion for radio, and desire further engagement with the community.
WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF BEING A CJAM VOLUNTEER?

THINK YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A JAMMER?
Want to become part of a station with a rich history and an exiting future? Join the CJAM family today and start making friendships that will last a lifetime.
Orientation takes place on the first and third Monday of each month at CJAM’s headquarters, located in the basement of the CAW Student Center (around the corner from the pharmacy) and lasts approximately 45 minutes. We’ll delve into the station’s fascinating history, take you on a magical tour of our facilities and introduce you to our friendly staff and some of our volunteers. Our next orientation sessions will be held on Monday, February 1 @ 2 PM and Tuesday, February 16 @ 11 AM (Monday February 15 is Family Day, so CJAM’s offices will be closed). Space is limited, so contact our Program Director, Cassandra Caverhill, at progcjam@uwindsor.ca to confirm your participation.
Be sure to check out our committees page too, so that you can discover how to help us out on the air and behind the scenes!
